Whilst men are very welcome on
midweek Social Sailing, three quarters of the
midweek regulars are women, many of whom are expats making the most of what
Sydney has to offer as they know their time in Sydney is limited.
Sailing school student
ages vary from 18 - 80 and level of fitness doesn't matter at all.
Annie, the owner operator of Sydney Private Sailing, believes sailing should be fun and
comfortable. There are even nail files on board incase you accidentally break a
nail pulling on the ropes! Sailing is hungry work so coffee and tim tams are
a feature of sailing with
Annie.
Annie teaches women how to compensate for
any lack of strength by correct posture and technique.
She can also show their partners how their helming can make winching easier for girlfriends
and wives.
Whilst there is no obligation
to take Sailing lessons if you do Social Sails, sailing lessons with will help you understand what you are
doing. Then, when the boat heels over, you will know how to control it.
Don't let yourself be relegated to pouring the drinks and making the sandwiches.
Get into the habit of checking the Boating
Weather Forecast (see Weather) before going sailing so
you know what conditions to expect - hopefully not the conditions in the photos!
